What is our parts policy for maintenance and breakdown services?
If British Gas do not carry the spare parts your repair needs on the day, they hold a central stock of 25,000 parts, which means we can get hold of most items the following working day. Otherwise, they will do all they  reasonably can to find parts from our suppliers. British Gas may use an approved alternative or parts that have been reconditioned by the original manufacturer

What is our labour policy for maintenance and breakdown services?
One of our engineers will usually carry out the work. In some cases we may authorise a suitably qualified contractor to carry out the work.

Can I apply for Breakdown cover if my supplier for gas or electricity is not British Gas?

  3. British Gas will send you a pack which tells you all about your HomeCare agreement and includes the special customer helpline number which you can call anytime day and night.

  4. British Gas will send an engineer to give your boiler and central heating a Safety and Maintenance Inspection.

  5. British Gas will write to you in advance to confirm the date of your appointment. Provided your boiler and central heating passes the inspection, they will confirm the contract with you to provide the level of HomeCare you have chosen.
